Reviews and Ratings
The hotel overlooks the historic Dresden skyline and is a pleasant walk from the old city center across the river. The rooms were on the 1st floor and adequately air-conditioned, although they could have been more modern. We did face issues with our electronic key twice, possibly due to cell phones. The service was somewhat formal but not overbearing, like being at a Ryanair check-in, and the staff offered to push two beds together, leading to some inconvenience. The location is just across the Elbe from the main attractions but had cold rooms and run-downed swimming pools. Dining offerings were average, with limited but acceptable choices.
The hotel offers spacious and extremely comfortable rooms with excellent bedding, but lacks charm and authenticity in its business-style dull look and feel. The view from the room, especially with a king-sized bed and soft pillows, comes at a premium price.
The hotel offers a simply spectacular experience with a Canaletto view, making it highly recommended. While the walk to my room was a bit long, the room itself was of good size, though not spacious, with very comfortable beds. The service was friendly and helpful, adding to the overall experience. The location is very attractive, just a short 10-minute walk away from the old town, along the beautiful banks of the Elbe. The dining options, while offering something for everyone, fell slightly below expectations for a 4-star hotel. Facilities were well-kept and provided additional conveniences, but dining was not included in the price. Wi-Fi was provided, but might be considered slightly overpriced for the quality of food offered. The stunning view on the old city of Dresden from the Elbe River is a real highlight, along with the proximity to various galleries and the altstadt and neustadt areas, offering good flexibility for exploring different parts of the city.
Staying at this hotel was a fantastic experience overall. The rooms on the river side were spacious, offering a comfortable king bed and a quiet atmosphere. However, the absence of coffee and tea facilities was a small drawback worth noting.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. While the rooms were big and comfortable, they looked nothing like the photos online. The service was very friendly, but somewhat ineffective. The location, however, was excellent, close to the city center and with nice views. The dining experience was good, especially with the homemade pastries, but not exceptional. Overall, the hotel offers value for money but has room for improvement in certain areas.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of great views and cozy comfort but slightly cramped rooms. The room was clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of the river, especially at night, although it was a bit too warm for my liking. The plethora of furniture made the room feel a bit crowded and clunky.
My stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, offering the famous 'Canaletto view' towards the Altstadt. The hotel is superbly located near the centrum, providing a beautiful setting along the river and excellent walking paths. The dining experience was top-notch, and the facilities were great. However, there were some service issues that affected my overall enjoyment.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room, with a double bed and a luxurious marble setting in the bathroom, was cozy, warm, and well worth the price tag. The buffet breakfast offered an excellent variety of food. The location, just a 5-minute walk from the Old Town of Dresden, was awesome with a nice view of the old town.
The hotel offers an amazing view overlooking the Elbe River, which enhances the experience. The room functioned more as a function room than a restaurant, which was a bit confusing. The service was outstanding and efficient, making the stay very pleasant. The location, despite being on the other side of the Opera House, provides a superb view and easy access to both the new and old city parts of Dresden. The dining experience was better than average, offering a great selection, though some items were a bit repetitive.
The hotel's location is its best attribute, situated opposite the historical Old Town of Dresden on the edge of the Elbe river. The rooms are spacious and neutrally decorated, offering functional comfort. Service is top-notch with friendly and efficient staff. Dining options are extensive, although some aspects may fall below expectations. The facilities are adequate to ensure a pleasant stay.
The hotel was miles away from Westin's signature 'Heavenly Bed,' but still comfortable. The rooms were spacious enough, with plenty of storage and a good-sized bathroom. They were very clean, always important in my book. The location was fantastic, just a 5-minute walk across the bridge and you were right in the heart of Dresden. However, they seemed to have forgotten to keep this place in shape. The service was excellent, friendly, and efficient, providing fancy food for private bookings. The self-service breakfast was very good indeed, and the Alt-Stadt, including ResidenzSchloss, Zwinger, SemperOper, and LiebfrauKirche, were easily accessible. However, this lovely hotel should cost an extra fee and the Wi-Fi had to be paid for separately.
Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight. The rooms, though a bit dated, were spacious, cosy, and well worth the price tag. The service, despite a minor glitch, was incredibly polite and efficient. The location is amazing, offering a fantastic view and proximity to historic Dresden. The dining options were extensive and worth trying out. Overall, a great value for money.
